Of course that's wrong. Nvidia's profits are down the drain. Their increased discrete market share at the moment is just a Pyrrhic victory. Discrete graphics is becoming irrelevant. Almost everything...

And you forgot that single precision is not very important for HPC.

From the Fermi whitepaper:

Obviously it's all obsolete with Maxwell. And it might become important again when Pascal is...

Well, at least with single precision Maxwell is doing not so bad compared to Kepler. With double precision Maxwell is a total disaster. Maxwell is a computing flop. Period.

This thread is completely pointless and misleading. Discrete graphics is becoming more and more irrelevant. If you look at overall GPU market share both companies are small now compared to Intel. But...

I rather wonder if there's some Nvidia cheating going on again. How can it be that 980 Ti performs the same under medium and heavy settings?

Custom models are irrelevant. Vendors only compare reference to reference. Reference 980 Ti is 5-10% faster in 1080p/1440p. Reference Fury X is faster at 4K. And it's >50% faster at computing. So,...

I think Cinebench is a very bad way to compare IPC because it heavily utilizes the double precision SIMD units. Which is not very representative for everyday apps. Nonetheless, nice effort from P3D.

No, they haven't. No matter how often you repeat this nonsense. Otherwise show me this APU. Which one is it? On which roadmap is this APU? What are the concrete specs?

Which is irrelevant. It's not even close to a confirmation of a real product by AMD. It's just an explanation, a side note. That's it. You should better learn to understand the context. You failed at...

Fiji is 275W and ~600 mm˛. An APU with similar TDP can reserve probably only ~60% of that power and area budget for the iGPU. Don't forget, there's also a CPU and more uncore logic. 60% of Fiji with...

Don't get your hopes too high. That may be just due to different software versions or special ISA extension optimizations. It seems most of the time Skylake is hardly faster than Haswell while...

You are still phantasizing. That article doesn't mention anything about confirmed 10 TFLOPS DP.

Everything else is pure speculation.

Doesn't look so positive for me because of the significant higher power consumption of the Broadwell iGPU. It seems there are almost no power efficiency gains going from 22nm to 14nm.

Poor excuses. AVX512 will be irrelevant to consumers. Even if it's supported by Non-Xeons it won't be used by >99% of all apps in the coming years. It also won't boost performance if Skylake still...

To say GTX 980 Ti is the safer bet is nonsense, IMO. Fury X is the faster card for 4K, has the more advanced architecture (bindless, async shaders), has more computing abilities, will gain more under...
