The Acer Converter Port has got many similarities to AMD DockPort, so I would not be surprised if they turn out to be the same. Maybe someone should pry apart an Acer Converter Cable (VGA/Ethernet/USB 2.0, Part No. NP.OTH11.01C, listed in some places here but curiously not on the Acer website), and look what chip is inside.
