Tegra2 vs Atom Z6?

I will be at CES this year and I'm wondering which company will own the tablets and phones there?

Any thoughts? Bets? Other than the company PR nonsense.

What does Zacate have to do with phones and tablets.

Problem with Intel is software. MeeGo is only option, and it isn't as popular as Android ... so Tegra.

MeeGo is just one option for Z6xx. They will have Android and MeeGo at launch. I think there's one more, but I forgot what that was. Wasn't Windows Phone 7 or Windows in general.

There's no known launch devices for Z6xx based on MeeGo, but two devices coming based on Android, so that should put your doubts into question.

Im sure you will see all of it. But I predict precious few OEM moorestown devices outside intel's boot.

Possible exception, ChromeOS. If that arrives in time for CES. ChromeOS would be launched on x86 first, ARM to follow shortly after, so that should give atom a boost for a while and on some form factors, a Z series would be preferable over regular atoms.

Im not holding my breath for atom+android though, and its probably too early for anything meego thats more than a concept.

x86 Android got stuck at version 1.6beta . ChromeOS ... possibly. Phone 7 is ARM-only for now.
Intel has shown MeeGo-based phones some time ago, ... demo hardware.

Are you sure you aren't living in 2009? The demos of Moorestown were all on Android 2.1, they should show 2.2 by release.

Again, MeeGo is further behind than Android on Moorestown. Yes, the phone hardware, doesn't matter because that's merely a development platform not something that will be commercialized AFAIK and they demoed both Android and MeeGo.

As for Chrome, I'm not holding my breath on any platform. So far its just a paper OS.

Battery life should go from 5-6 hours on Pine Trail and Menlow to 8-10 on Moorestown, 6-7 with Oak Trail using Windows.

Fewer will show products.

A small number will have things for sale.
