Yeah, not just AM4 boards, but all motherboards everywhere. Find a spot in the wilderness as far away from any tech as possible and wait out the spontaneous EMP that everyone of them is going to generate (along with a massive explosion).

MSI are the better..
You may well be correct. I tried a beta bios 1.52 today. It showed some promise cinebench performance for open GL increased dramatically on my Nitro Fury gpu from 114.5 fps to 130.4 fps at same cpu speed ( 3.85 GHZ,and memory speed of ddr4 3200 cl 14-14-14-34.

Unfortunately the bios displays some instability,so a couple of hours later I reverted back to 1.40 on my MSI Titanium. I think the beta indicates there will be continued improvement as bios and microcode receive more polished updates. So I am not negative for the long term outlook.

AMD seems to have released new chipset drivers which bring cpu performance up by 8% or so they say

well it seems they introed that new balanced power plan, which does nothing to me, as I am already running performance power plan without any power saving.

Does running performance power plan affect XFR though? (moot if manually overclocking of course)

I'm actually more curious what the ideal CPU governor for Linux would be ...
