Starcraft and (real) D1 remaster, that's all I really wanted. This generation deserves it (ok, maybe not. But certainly the next one).

Hmm... StarCraft 2 doesn't support 4K and beyond, no?

it does support at least 4K.

But SC1 is a very different game from a gameplay perspective

Huh, I think it isn't that different. Can you please explain in what exactly the gameplay is different?

Wouldn't it have been easier to recreate the game within SC2's editor?
*edit* I realize it probably wouldn't because Blizzard is nothing if not "cost effective".

I remember getting Starcraft when it first came out. I couldn't understand why, if it was happening in space, everything was happening in 2 dimensions. Even the spaceships all flew at exactly one level such that no spaceship could fly above another. wtf?

A lot on the gameplay side.
-SC1 only 1 building at a time versus unlimited for SC2
-SC1 only 12 units at a time versus unlimted for SC2
-worker rally from commander center is "broken" in SC1 and works 100% in SCD2.
-SC1 has many tricks where you can "abuse" the game engine to do things like get off attacks without stopping your unit from moving.

-Most key, SC1 units do reduced damage to different types of units instead of increase damage in SC2. This makes units feel very different

From a spectators point of view, there are differences, but less.

Blizzard wanted to keep the game in a state where all the tricks people had figured out and learned still worked.

Placing a building near extractor to increase the efficiency per worker, patrol vultures to attack without losing their movement, dodge scourge with mutalisks despite slower movement speed.

I think without those things, many people would not consider it the same game.

I think they should have revamped multiplayer like this, AND done a (paid?) revamp of single player in SC2.
