I think we are assuming Nintendo was able to beat Nvidia up pretty badly for Tegra pricing, but what if they didn't and a part of Switch's cost comes from the Nvidia? I could see Nintendo leaning toward a more expensive Nvidia part if it meant Nvidia was going to help with the software. And low and behold we see Switch supporting Unreal Engine far more than their previous consoles.

I like that first link. It shows Xiaomi a tad under 20% gross margins.
You know console had about a 20% margin? The Wii.

Shield at best costs only $50 less to make than the Mi6. Up to around $100 less depending on price of X1 Nvidia gives.

Which hey, a bit under 20% margin... $245 or so cost to make...

245-50= 195, 20% Nintendo margin? 234 to retailers, $250 retail.
245-100= 145, 25% Nintendo margin? 182 to retailers, $200 retail.

Reality is probably somewhere in the middle. But safe to say a competitive spec'd product could have a BoM under $150. Maybe <125.

Take this as rambling... move on this isn't the post you are looking for...

4K w/ HDR ~6 inch - 100 fps
10nm or 7nm
Denver 2.x HP & Denver 2.x LP w/ Volta. (Wide IO 2 or LP-HBM (Wide I/O 3-sort of))
Very Late 2018 to Very Early 2019.
"Switch Advance" or something.

Uh. is this meant to be mobile still?

Because if so, i don't buy 4K HDR @ 100fps.

Wasn't that exactly how it played out i.e. Nvidia supports the software?

Nvidia did the android port that only works on tegra.
I still wouldn't rule out the possibility that nvidia indirectly discounted tegra for a larger cut later, whether from software or future hardware. We're 15-24 months away from another Nintendo device IMHO.

Maybe it took them that long to modify the part number that gets silkscreened onto the finished package...
