According to this article, the Oban is already in production, while the Jaguar core based AMD products aren't due out until June 2013.

That's a difference of at least 5 months.

This article isn't announcing Oban is in production, it is announcing that if it isn't in production already then MS have missed their deadline and the 720 is late.

How long do you think it takes to manufacture enough chips for a launch? As this very article says, Oban needs to be in production as of 2 days ago in order to make an August launch date. Jaguar has an earlier launch date than August.

The Oban was taped out 1 year ago, and it must have gone through several revisions and testing cycles to be production ready.

The same thing with the Kabini, taped out months ago, but 1 year of testing and revisions to get it production ready.

The matter of fact is that the Oban is in production while Jaguar based products are still in the process of testing and revisions.
