Intel announces Atom Z600-series for phones, tablets

New PCH, support for Android, Meego and Moblin

INTEL IS OBVIOUSLY taking its entry into the smartphone market very seriously with today’s introduction of the Moorestown platform, now formally known as the Atom Z600 family. Intel has implemented a wide range of changes compared to the Atom Z500-series, although interestingly, it hasn’t transitioned the Atom Z600-series to its 32nm manufacturing process, instead it remains at 45nm.

Acer’s mobile Phenom II Aspire range leaks

YESTERDAY IT WAS Dell; today it’s Acer’s turn to have its upcoming notebooks leaked ahead of the launch, although this time around it doesn’t appear to be any fault of Acer. Amazon.de has helpfully posted a couple of new mobile Phenom II powered models with various configuration options. The models we’re looking at are the Aspire 5551G, 5553G and 7551G.
