    Wishful thinking?

Maybe an AIB overclocked version of the 6970?

As far as I know overclock won't increase the number of shaders...But yeah, the right guess is "nothing".

Does this GPU-Z version fully support 6900 series?
Since 1536 VLIW4 shaders corresponds to 1920 VLIW5 shaders (both means 24 SIMD clusters), I may be just a GPU-Z incorrect conversion of SIMD to shader count. Then that would be just an OCed version of 6970.

I think Wandrey has a point, most likely an outdated GPU-Z. Or someone activated the secret second switch on Cayman!
