    Any1 heard anything about this? Seems interesting. Are they manipulating the waves along the z-axis?

    They simply modify a dish or antenna to change the polarization of the photons in the outgoing signal.

    No, not the polarization - that is related to the spin. They are talking about manipulating the orbital angular momentum of the photons.
